The dubbed version of the show is heading towards the climax of the Marineford arc which is as far the dub is concerned one the most epic if not THE most epic arc yet. I'm really enjoying following exclusively the dub even though the sub has almost double the episodes. I compiled a selection of my favorite top moments of the second voyage of season 8 containing episodes 469 - 480. Enjoy!
Luffy receives the key to Ace's handcuffs from Hancock, who then fantasizes about a wedding ceremony held on Amazon Lily between herself and Luffy with the entire Kuja tribe witnessing. Ivankov fights against Kuma while Luffy continues to advance up the battlefield. Crocodile defeats multitudes of Whitebeard's lower-ranking men to get to him, but is assaulted by Jozu, who is then halted by Doflamingo. The episode ends with Mihawk blocking Luffy's path.
If you have been watching One Piece you will know that the episode titles often tend to spoil the plot a bit. They tend to sum up exactly what is going to happen in the show before it has even happened.
For DVD extras, there are episode commentaries, a textless version of the opening song although it is not a new track, trailers, and two other featurettes: a music lesson from Brook, and a selection of the top ten moments from the series.
One Piece is an anime series adapted from the manga of the same title written by Eiichiro Oda. Produced by Toei Animation, and directed by Konosuke Uda, Munehisa Sakai, and Hiroaki Miyamoto, the ninth through the fourteenth seasons were broadcast on Fuji Television from May 21, 2006 to September 25, 2011. One Piece follows the adventures of Monkey D. Luffy, a 17-year-old boy, whose body has gained the properties of rubber from accidentally eating a supernatural fruit, and his crew of diverse pirates, named the Straw Hat Pirates. Luffy's greatest ambition is to obtain the world's ultimate treasure, One Piece, and thereby become the next King of the Pirates.[1] The series uses 42 different pieces of theme music: 24 opening themes and 18 closing themes. Several CDs that contain the theme music and other tracks have been released by Toei Animation. The first DVD compilation was released on February 21, 2001,[2] with individual volumes releasing monthly. The Singaporean company Odex released part of the series locally in English and Japanese in the form of dual audio Video CDs.[3]
The first unedited, bilingual DVD box set, containing 13 episodes, was released on May 27, 2008.[4] Similarly sized sets followed with 31 sets released as of July 2015.[5][6] Episodes began streaming on August 29, 2009.[7] Funimation's uncut dub later resumed airing on Adult Swim's revived Toonami programming block from episode 207 onwards from May 2013 until it was removed from the schedule in March 2017 after episode 384.[8] Toonami would eventually bring the series back in January 2022, starting on episode 517.[9] 59ce067264
